The Hartford Line and Connecticut’s Economy.

Rich Andreski, Bureau Chief of Public Transportation will present on the the Hartford Line service and its benefits to Connecticut’s economy.

The Hartford Line is a planned commuter rail service between New Haven, Connecticut, and Springfield, Massachusetts. It will use Amtrak’s New Haven–Springfield Line and supplement existing intercity rail services between the two cities.

The reception will be open to all legislators and legislative staff, DOT management, DCS management and ACEC/CT members and is a wonderful opportunity to show members of the General Assembly the great work we do for the people of Connecticut and our impact on the state’s economy.

The Heroes Tunnel: A Project Update

Please join us on Monday, March 26th when the CT Department of Transportation and CDM Smith will provide an update on the Heroes Tunnel project.

The Heroes Tunnel consists of two 1,200-foot-long horseshoe-shaped barrels, carrying two lanes of Wilbur Cross Parkway (Route 15) traffic in each direction through West Rock Ridge. The Heroes Tunnel carries approximately 77,300 vehicles daily and is the only tunnel to pass beneath a natural land feature in the State of Connecticut.

CDM Smith is presently in the Preliminary Design Phase of this project performing Public Outreach, determining existing conditions including the geotechnical exploration program and the preparation of the NEPA Documents and the Alternative Analysis Evaluation.
