SOUTH HARTFORD CONVEYANCE/STORAGE
TUNNEL and SHAFT CONSTRUCTION UPDATE

The  South Hartford Conveyance and Storage Tunnel runs from West Hartford
to the Hartford Water Pollution Control Facility on Brainard Road, and is a key
piece of  The Metropolitan District’s 20-year Clean Water Project that aims to
safeguard the future of the Connecticut River.

The deep rock tunnel is about four miles long, 18 feet in diameter and will capture
sewer overflows and help keep untreated wastewater out of the Connecticut River.
The project is being built in five construction packages. The deep tunnel and shaft
work is underway with a contract value of $279.4 Million.

Please join us for an Update on
New England’s largest waste water project!
