Connecticut Department Of Transportation
Environmental Compliance, Contract Development & Permit Coordination

On July 1, 2019, CTDOT will begin operating under the “General Permit for the Discharge of Stormwater from Department of Transportation Separate Storm Sewer Systems” issued by CTDEEP. The permit is often referred to as the DOT MS4 permit. The permit will require the Department to develop and/or modify many practices and procedures across the organization including the existing design process for implementing and documenting stormwater quality improvements for projects. The presentation will give an overview of the permit’s requirements, how the Department is planning on meeting the permit’s core elements, and how the design process will change to address the permit’s stormwater quality requirements.
